Fragrance Concentrations Explained

Concentration labels describe broad product categories. They can help comparison, but there is no single percentage or wear time that applies to every brand and formula.

Eau de Cologne

Often associated with a lighter concentration and a fresh style. Actual formula strength varies.

Eau de Toilette

EDT often emphasizes lift and diffusion. It can still be strong depending on the formula.

Eau de Parfum

EDP often contains a higher aromatic concentration than an EDT from the same line, but the scent profile can also change rather than simply becoming stronger.

Parfum and extrait

These labels often indicate a richer or more concentrated interpretation. They do not guarantee greater projection or a fixed number of hours.

What affects performance?

  • Formula and materials
